How Many Disney NFTs Are There?

How Much Are Disney NFTs Selling For?

NFTs are the next media that Disney, the entertainment powerhouse, is attempting to control. Indeed, the venerable brand has long been involved in the NFT market. Furthermore, the House of Mouse has a number of strategies in place to extend its digital assets and metaverse efforts.

Let’s take a look at some of the most recent Disney NFT collections.

The beginning of the Walt Disney Company in NFTs

Disney, possibly the most well-known entertainment brand on the planet, requires little introduction. The Walt Disney Company, which was formed in 1923 as Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, is the creator and owner of some of the most well-known intellectual property.

People expected large corporations to take their hand at developing their own NFT collectibles as NFTs gained in popularity in 2021. And, of course, it doesn’t get any bigger than Disney when it comes to well-known companies.

When it comes to entering the space, brands have taken a few different ways. While some have done it themselves, many have chosen to work with Web3 native companies. So far, Disney has chosen the latter strategy.

VeVe has been the exclusive drop partner for the Disney NFT collection

All of the official Disney’s NFTs have already been released through the NFT marketplace VeVe. VeVe is an app-based marketplace that specialises in licensed NFT drops from some of the world’s most recognisable companies.

It’s safe to assume that the relocation has benefited both parties greatly. Disney NFTs, like other VeVe collections, sell out quickly when they first go live. Similarly, their secondary market prices are typically orders of magnitude more than when they first sell.

Disney has been active in VeVe NFTs for about a year. That’s because in April 2021, VeVe released an NFT based on the Marvel Comics franchise “The Rise of Ultraman.” Marvel is, of course, one of the many major brands that Disney has bought over the years. Following that, Marvel and VeVe released a number of high-profile NFT releases.

As a result, the first completely branded Disney NFTs were released in November 2021. Disney and VeVe released an NFT compilation of “Disney Golden Moments” at the time. These NFTs were released to commemorate Disney+ Day, a day dedicated to Disney’s subscription streaming service Disney+.

The Disney VeVe NFT Collections

Disney+ Golden Moments

The Golden Moments were the first specifically Disney-branded NFTs to appear on VeVe in honour of Disney+ Day, as previously stated. To that purpose, the NFTs were golden 3D statues depicting some of the most popular Disney Plus properties.

The Simpsons Golden Moments NFTs were released first on November 7, 2021, followed by the Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars NFTs.

Except for the Pixar Golden Moments collection, each collection had 18,666 NFTs (16,666). There was also one higher edition “Uncommon” NFT and one lower edition “Rare” NFT in each collection.

Not only that, but the collections debuted in a Blind Box configuration, which is similar to what most NFT mints use now. That is to say, upon launch, there was a fixed price of 60 Gems (more on them later), and buyers didn’t know which NFT they got until the sale was over.

Finally, but certainly not least, Disney rounded off the first week of Golden Moments drop of NFT sales by releasing 4,333 digital golden statues of Walt Disney grasping Mickey Mouse’s hand. These Ultra Rare NFTs were auctioned for 333 Gems each. Given that the lowest price for these rare collectibles is currently 16,400 gems, it’s safe to assume that those lucky customers were overjoyed to get their hands on them before they sold out.

Since then, Disney has offered Golden Moments collections for Valentine’s Day 2022, as well as a Disney Duos NFTs collection on March 19, 2022.

The Mickey Mouse NFT Collection

The Mickey Mouse NFT Collection honours Disney’s renowned mascot, as its name suggests. It honours some of his most famous events and variations during his career.

The first series in the collection was based on Mickey Mouse’s first public appearance and Steamboat Willie, the first-ever synchronised sound animation. The collection of roughly 40,000 NFTs sold for 60 diamonds at first. It used the Blind Box structure to distribute its three separate rarity classes when it launched on Dec. 22, 2021.

Bandleader Mickey from Walt Disney Animations’ The Band Concert was featured in the second series of the collection. On April 2, 2022, the second series was released, with the same price, collection size, and rarity distributions as the first.

Mickey and Friends – Series 1

On January 29, 2022, Disney released this collection of approximately 60,000 NFTs on VeVe. Mickey Mouse is back in the collection, along with five other classic cartoon characters. Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Pluto, and Goofy were among the characters on the list.

These Disney collectibles were divided into five rarity classes, like with many VeVe NFT collections: Common (Mickey & Minnie), Uncommon (Donald Duck), Rare (Daisy Duck), Ultra Rare (Pluto), and Secret Rare (Goofy). The collection was also available as a 40-gem Blind Box Series.

Pixar Pals

Disney’s Pixar Pals NFTs followed the Mickey and Friends collection’s size and mechanics, but with popular characters from Disney’s Pixar animated films. Characters from Toy Story, The Incredibles, and Monsters Inc. were among the NFTs that made a big sensation when they were released. Needless to say, they were quickly sold out!

Marvel Collections

Given that VeVe began releasing Marvel NFT collections months before the first Disney-branded collection, there are already a slew of VeVe Marvel NFTs on the market.

On Aug. 7, 2021, the partnership’s first high-profile release was a Spider-Man collection. Since then, Marvel and VeVe have released a slew of drops featuring some of comics’ most iconic characters. The X-Men, Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Black Panther franchises have all seen iconic superheroes memorialised as VeVe NFTs.

Where can I buy a Disney NFT

To begin, you must first register for the VeVe app in order to purchase any of the existing Disney NFTs. Unlike the rest of the NFT market, where NFTs trade in cryptocurrencies like ETH, SOL, or XTZ, VeVe NFTs only trade in Gems, the platform’s own currency. To be clear, one Gem is equal to one dollar.

VeVe app

You’re ready to start collecting NFTs once you’ve set up your VeVe account and purchased some gems. It’s worth repeating that VeVe drops, while occurring regularly, are extremely popular. As a result, they virtually always sell out in a matter of minutes. If there are any nfts available, they maybe found on the secondary market, where multiple Disney nfts are transacted daily at a much higher price than the initial floor price.

On the plus side, unlike ETH NFTs, you will not lose money due to unsuccessful transactions. So, if you want to get the best deal on VeVe drops, attempt to get in on the first sale.

Of course, you may always shop the secondary market for discounted Disney NFTs. While these prices will undoubtedly be higher, keep in mind that the majority of Disney NFT releases on VeVe are in the form of blind boxes. So, at the very least, in the secondary market, you can choose the exact NFT/rarity you want.

How Much Are Disney NFTs Selling For?

To answer the question of how much will it cost to buy Disney NFT?. This was decided on the drop day, Disney used a format called “Blind box,” which meant that purchasers didn’t know what they were getting until they opened the box and looked inside. The collection was swiftly depleted, with the majority of NFTs changing hands for a price of sixty dollars; thereafter, the value of the NFTs skyrocketed to two thousand dollars in some instances. If there are still nfts available

Overall, Disney NFTs on VeVe are an intriguing prospect. They may become rather valuable in the future as the earliest collectibles from some of the world’s most valuable IP. Certainly, Disney appears to have huge ambitions for the future in the NFT department. In the meanwhile, you can download VeVe and start participating right now!
